How is my donation to Don’t Be A Monster used?

Updated: Jul 6, 2020

When you give to Don't Be A Monster, you are directly supporting our bullying prevention initiative. Our mission at Don’t Be A Monster is to educate and empower youth to stand up for themselves and their peers by building a community where everyone is included, no matter their differences. Each and every gift allows us to bring our unique programming to thousands of students, at zero cost to schools, to promote an inclusive and kind school environment.

Operating from our HQ in Denver, we mobilize teams in over 20 markets to visit schools all across the country. The collaboration between our administrative team and our partnering haunted attractions is what makes the wide scope of our program possible. Each donation we receive allows us to grow our program to reach more and more school communities. Unlike other assembly programs that aim to make money off the sales of their program, our goal is to share our message of kindness with as many schools as possible.

Since 2013, we have reached over 475,000 students and we continue to grow! Your contribution directly supports our work with students and ensures equal access to our programming. By providing zero-cost assemblies and supplementary curriculum, Don’t Be A Monster ensures that teachers and students have access to the materials they need to build an inclusive environment. Every donation we receive supports this work and directly impacts schools across the country.

As a 501(c)3 registered nonprofit organization, your gift is 100% tax deductible. In order to help gain the trust of our supporters, we are dedicated to financial transparency. Check out the 2020 Platinum Seal of Transparency we earned from GuideStar.

We envision a world where kindness is empowering and uniqueness is celebrated! Your support is critical to our vision and mission--we are so grateful to you!
